Chihuahua City, sixth place in urban competitiveness

Chihuahua City.- Mayor Marco Bonilla Mendoza announced that this year Chihuahua City has joined the "major leagues", ranking sixth in urban competitiveness along with cities such as Monterrey, Guadalajara, CDMX, Leon, Tijuana, Juarez, among others. This is because Chihuahua advanced four places in urban competitiveness to rank sixth among cities with more than one million inhabitants in the Urban Competitiveness Index (ICU) 2022 conducted by the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO). He pointed out that the factors that influenced Chihuahua to be ranked sixth in the competitiveness ranking were the investment in infrastructure, the investment in security and the results that have been achieved in this area, the 18.3% reduction in poverty, the economic income generated in the city by the micro and small businesses that make up the majority of the capital and the tourist activity that has reported close to two million visitors this year. The mayor recalled that he received the city in 10th place in competitiveness and today it is in sixth place above cities such as Tijuana, Mexicali, Merida, San Luis Potosi, Leon and Tijuana and only below Monterrey, the most important steel city in the country, which is Saltillo, Guadalajara, Queretaro and CDMX.
