Leoni Cable Cuauhtémoc expansion inaugurated

Cuauhtémoc, Chih.- With the attendance of the business sector, the expansion project of the Leoni Cable plant in Cuauhtémoc, which required an investment of almost USD $17 million and will manufacture wiring for hybrid and electric cars, was inaugurated. The protocol was led by Governor María Eugenia Campos Galván, who highlighted the creation of jobs and economic growth in the region. The new plant consists of 7,500 square meters with an expansion of 3,200 square meters for a total of 10,700 square meters, representing a 42 percent growth, through collaboration with American Industries, which was honored to carry out the construction of the production plant. During the event, Bill Livengood, president of Leoni Cable, expressed that this is a company of German origin, known for its competent and innovative system in the development of supply of wires, cables and wiring systems, which employs more than 77 thousand people in 33 countries in 93 plants. Everardo Avila, director of the Leoni Cable Cuauhtémoc plant, highlighted that thanks to the achievements obtained throughout these years, Leoni maintains a frequent expansion, which is confirmed by the acquisition of almost 3 hectares of land for the construction of the new warehouse, to carry out the EMOMEX Project specialized in the manufacture of Charging Cables and High Voltage Cables for Hybrid and Electric cars. The German company's products have various applications in automobiles, computers, household appliances and even streetcars, so its trade is focused on world-renowned companies such as DaimlerChrysler, GM, Ford, BMW and VW.
