Ciudad Juárez, Chih.- Governor Maru Campos inaugurated the first operations sub-center of the Centinela Platform in the State with an investment in Ciudad Juarez of approximately USD $32 million for equipment that includes 845 intelligent monitoring points. The governor emphasized that security is a priority for the State Government, and that it will continue working to offer the best technology and the best trained personnel, which is why this progress in the subject means a revolution in the way in which emergency response and police work is carried out. "Juarez will be the nerve center of the Centinela Platform; this is where the connection of more than 3,000 PTZ cameras, 4,800 fixed cameras, 1,791 license plate reader cameras and 807 workstations will be monitoring the State of Chihuahua," she emphasized. The Centinela Platform’s artificial intelligence will monitor in real time criminal events, as well as places of great convergence; schools, shopping malls, avenues, hospitals and places of interest, the plan is focused on generating public confidence. Additionally, the operational personnel will process the information collected to provide the required attention in each case. "It is safety for our children in parks and schools, it is the tactical intelligence of our professional security elements, it is protection, it is giving a strong message to criminals and transgressors of public order: in Chihuahua, crime will not go unpunished, the State has strength and capacity, and will be used to safeguard peace," said the governor. Finally, Governor Maru Campos expressed that Centinela is for the security and well-being of the people of Chihuahua. "I want to tell you that Centinela is the most important step in security matters towards the recovery of our peace of mind". Gilberto Loya Chávez, Secretary of Public Safety, acknowledged the progress that the Centinela platform means for the security of the State and thanks to the joint work with the Attorney General's Office, it will be possible to process the information received at the command center.
