Chihuahua is a national referent in environmental education

The Ministry of Urban Development and Ecology (SDUE by its initials in Spanish) through its Department of Ecology, carried out the 2nd. (virtual) edition of the National Seminar on Environmental Education "50 years of the global environmental agenda through education", with the objective of developing and strengthening environmental capacities in actors of change and joining collective efforts of citizen participation, through educational strategies to contribute to the formation of a critical and reflective society in accordance with sustainability. The event was made up of first-rate panelists such as Dr. Julia Carabias Lillo, Prof. Dolores Barrientos Alemán, Dr. Andrea Lara Guevara and Dr. Arturo Curiel Ballesteros, among many, who will deliver their conferences and workshops focused on the professionalization of teachers, environmental educators, students and the general public, in addition to having a space for the presentation of successful experiences in environmental matters, adding to an agenda aimed at children and young people. During the months of May and June of this year, the Environmental Education and Training Center, in coordination with the Science Museum of the State of Morelos and the University Center of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the University of Guadalajara, will carry out the thematic axes of the Seminar, such as Sustainable Development, Clean Water and Sanitation; Responsible Production and Consumption, and the Life of Terrestrial Ecosystems, among others.
