Chihuahua State Governor Maru Campos Galván and Jabil’s Senior Vice President of Global Operations Gerald J.J. Crean, led the ceremony to lay the first stone of what will be the third plant of the Corporation in the city of Chihuahua. With a total investment of US$336 million, of which $106 will be destined in infrastructure and $230 for the acquisition of machinery and equipment, the company foresees the creation of 8,000 new jobs in the next 5 years. "Without a doubt, with Jabil Chihuahua prosperity grows towards a better economic future for all our families," Campos Galván pointed out. In turn, the operations director of Jabil Chihuahua, Ramón Sánchez, explained that the company has a well-established footprint in the north of Mexico, since the first plant of this company opened its doors in 2000 and with the next opening they could double direct jobs. "The location, capabilities and great talent of the people of Chihuahua have allowed us to have a highly qualified workforce in the region," said Sánchez. He stated that the new building will be a space of 250 thousand square feet and is projected to be operational in April of next year, to offer manufacturing conditions in key sectors such as energy, automotive and medical.
